These Opel GT promotional photos just look like some Opel GT owner's Facebook profile picture

I love promotional photos from the manufacturers. Some of them can be cool, like this:

Kinja'd!!!

But I hate the trend that’s become part of the world of luxury manufacturers, who put very fake looking models in their promotional imagery. The biggest offender is Cadillac (sadly, as they’re my favorite brand), and I think I stand for everyone when I say I really don’t want to see Desmond Hipster over here blocking my CTS-V porn:

Kinja'd!!!

But, I think I’ve found the worst offender yet. Opel, who took very many closeups of this man with the car in question in the background to advertise their new Opel GT roadster in 2007.

Kinja'd!!!

I haven’t found any context as to who this guy is and his importance to the GT. Was he the designer? I doubt it, they usually !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Is he the cameraman’s son? Maybe. Is he famous? Hell if I know. But I do know that it looks like he hired some photographer off Facebook to take these photos for him to use as a profile pic.

The front end of that Mazda is so clean - that’s exactly the way to do it. No gawping mouth, no complicated mesh, no dinette-set drawer pulls, no latticework.

I agree. I absolutely adore the old 6 and this Mazdaspeed6. The design is so nice.

They’re getting you ready for the ownership experience of the Speedster, which is “dudes getting uncomfortably close to you”

I have noticed something over the years since just after the very 1st Accord. They come out with a new Accord and it looks weird to me, then it grows on me, then I like it. Last gen 2-door is the best example. Camry has gotten uglier, Altima is blah, CC/Passat is meh, but the Mazda really shines in the segment. Forgot others certainly, but point made, I think.

My favorite is the man in the ochre shirt and sneakers posing with the 2006 BMW Z4.

Yes, because the slight use of gaussian blur totally takes my eyes off the guy front and center in the pic and towards the BMW in the background.
